Illegal trade: Teak, textile, boat, gold mining equipment seized

The effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade in accordance with the law under the supervision of the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee. Multi-team inspections were carried out at the Myanmar Industrial Port Container Inspection Station on 17 June and unregistered garment products were seized.

On 18 June, a combined inspection team under the management of the Anti-Illicit Trade Task Force seized a wooden boat and gold mining equipment among the trees near Moesein island of Manmalin village in Bhamo Township.

Similarly, a combined inspection team led by the Region Forest Department arrested illegal teak timbers in Bago Region on 19 June.

Therefore, a total of three arrests at estimated value of 22.505 million Kyats were made on three consecutive days from 17 to 19 June according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
