Illegal Trade: Illegalteak, Motor Boats, Timber And Items Seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the26th, 27th and 28th of June, illegal teak, unregistered motor boats, electronic products without any official documents, undocumented foodstuffs and consumer goods, undeclared sandals, cosmetics, foodstuffs, old electronic products and consumer goods and also illegal detergent powder and timber were seized in Kanma township, in the Ayeyawaddy River near Kyontaw Village of Magway Township, at the Thanlwin Bridge combined checkpoint, at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) combined checkpoint, at  the ThingaNyinaung combined checkpoint and in Kengtung Township and Toungoo District.

In total, illegal teak, motor boats, timber and items worth over 139 million Kyats were seized on the 26th, 27th and 28th of June. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
