Illegal Trade: Illegal Timbers, Goods And Vehicles Seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 12th, 14th, 15th and 16thof May,illegal timbers, unregistered Thai traditional medicines and mosquito repellent bottles, 10unregistered vehicles and illegal teak were seized in Thandwe and Taungup townships of Rakhine State, at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint in Mon State, in Ottwin Township of Bago Region and on the Sittoung Bridge. In total, illegal timbers, goods and unregistered vehicles worth over 21 million Kyats were seized on the 12th, 14th, 15th and 16th of May. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
