Illegal trade: Illegal timbers, cosmetics seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.

On 7 May, the Customs and Excise Team seized the cosmetics not listed in the import declaration (ID) at the container terminal of Myanmar Industrial Port.

On 8 May, a combined inspection team led by Myanmar Police force seized a Toyota Townace vehicle without vehicle registration certificate in Sagaing Township.

Similarly, a combined inspection team led by the Region Forest Department under the management of the Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force of Bago Region confiscated doors and door frames made of illegal teak and ironwood near milepost 18/1-2 of the Pyay-Taungup road.

Therefore, four arrests approximately valued at 37.41 million Kyats were carried out on 7 and 8 May, according to the Steering Committee for Combating Illegal Trade.
