Illegal Trade: Illegal Teak, Industrial Materials, Consumer Goods Seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 28th, 29th and 30th of August, illegal raw teak parquet pieces,  two-wheel tractor parts, generator, strengthening agent, sawn teak parts, teak temple, tiles, slim bags and men slippers were seized on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway, at the Yepu Permanent Checkpoint and at the Myanmar Industrial Port Terminal Container Checkpoint as well as in Lewe Township and at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Combined Checkpoint. In total, illegal teak, industrial materials and consumer goods worth over 81 million Kyats were confiscated. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
