Illegal Trade: Illegal materials, consumer goods, vehicle seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 28th, 30th and 31st of August and the 1st of September, illegal industrial materials, car parts, vehicle, gum-kino timber, edible oil, electronic products, construction materials and teak were seized at the Myawady border trade zone and in Khamti township, on the Bokpyin-Kawthoung Union Highway, at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint, at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Combined Checkpoint and in Bago and Thayawady districts.

In total, illegal materials, consumer goods and vehicle worth over 639 million Kyats were confiscated. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
