Illegal Trade: Illegal items worth over 327 million Kyats seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 5th and 6th of May, undocumented consumer goods, clothes, phone accessories and electronic products as well as undeclared office equipment, clothes and household appliances, illegal timbers, an unregistered vehicle and motorbike were seized at at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint and in Lashio, at the Myanmar Industrial Port Container Checkpoint, in Pyu Township of Taungoo District and in Sagaing and Shwebo townships.

In total, illegal items worth over 327 million Kyats were seized on the 5th and 6th of May. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
