Illegal Trade: Illegal items worth over 241 million Kyats seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 29th of April and the 1st of May, undocumented bags of dried chilies and wine bottles, unregistered motorcycles, illegal teak furniture pieces, unlicensed diesel barrels and illegal sawn ironwood timber were seized in Taunggyi of Shan State, Hmawbi Township of Yangon Region, Monywa of Sagaing Region and Kyauktakha Township of Bago Region.

In total, illegal items worth over 241 million Kyats were seized on the 29th of April and the 1st of May. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
