Illegal Trade: Illegal items worth over 207 million Kyats seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 4th, 6th and 7th of May, illegal teak, illegal logs and timbers, undeclared battery, clothing, consumer goods and cosmetics and illegal soft drinks were seized on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway, on the Yangon-Pyay Road, at the container terminal of Myanmar Industrial Port, at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Joint Inspection Station and near the Milepost 37/0 of the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway.

 In total, illegal items worth over 207 million Kyats were seized on the 4th, 6th and 7th of May. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
