Illegal Trade: Illegal items and unlicensed vehicles seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th of June, bags of cement without payment for customs duties, edible oil without official documents, undeclared rice cookers, illegal teak and timber, unregistered vehicles and illegal fuel oil and beer cartons were seized in Myeik Township of Taninthayi Region, at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint, at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Checkpoint, at the 16th Mile Ceckpoint, in Bago Region, in Toungoo, Pyay and Thayawady districts, in Sagaing Township, in Kalay township and at the Yepu Permanent Checkpoint in Shan State.

In total, illegal items and unlicensed vehicles worth over 107 million Kyats were seized on the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th of June. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
