Illegal Trade: Illegal items and abandoned vehicles seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th of June, cartons of juice with marijuana seals without official documents, undeclared cartons of eye drops, abandoned vehicles, undeclared toys, illegal liquor, illegal crude oil and related materials and illegal timber, ceramic tiles and mobile phones were seized at the Yangon Airport Cargo Warehouse, at the Asia World Container Checkpoint, at the Myanmar Industrial Port Container Checkpoint, at the Hteedan Container Port Checkpoint and also in Matupi township of Chin State, in Thayet Township, in Aunglan and Kanma townships, at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Checkpoint, in Bogale township and in Bago township.

In total, unregistered vehicle and illegal items worth over 51 million Kyats were seized on the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th of June. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
