Illegal Trade: Illegal goods, vehicles and timber seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 28th and 29th of January, illegal goods including electrical products, clothes and cosmetics as well as unregistered vehicles, water heater machines, ceiling boards, mobile phones and timber worth over 102 million Kyats were confiscated at the 16-mile Checkpoint and on the Yangon-Pathein Road, at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Checkpoint as well as in the Myawaddy Trade Zone, at the Yebu Permanent Checkpoint and on the Yangon-Mandalay Road. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
