Illegal Trade: Illegal goods, vehicle and timber seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 17th, 18th and 19th of January, illegal goods including walkie-talkies, elastic bandage, foodstuff, detergent, timber, vehicle, fruits and teak worth over 134 million Kyats were confiscated at the Asia World Container Checkpoint and at the Yangon International Airport as well as on the Yangon-Hpa-an-Myawaddy Road, in Pathein Township, in Latha Township, at the Kawkareik [Tadakyoe] Checkpoint and in Taungoo, Nyaunglaybin and Thayawaddy districts.

Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
