Illegal Trade: Illegal goods and timber confiscated

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 7th, 8th and 9th of December, illegal foodstuffs, consumer goods, used bicycles, eye drops, medicines, electronic products and timber worth over 283 million Kyats were confiscated on the Asia Highway in Kayin State and at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint in Mon State, at the Asia World Container Checkpoint, at the Myanma Industrial Port Container Checkpoint in Yangon Region and at the YayPu Permanent Checkpoint in Shan State as well as in Taungoo and Nyaunglaybin districts.

Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
