Illegal trade: Illegal consumer goods, vehicles seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.

On 23 December, a combined team under the supervision of Customs Department seized two kinds of goods including 1,000 Thermos bottles from a container, which were more than Import Declaration at Myanmar Industrial Port container checkpoint.

Moreover, officials nabbed two kinds of goods including 3,800 shopping bags and a Nissan Diesel vehicle from near the Ywathagyi toll gate, MyawadyHpa-an-Yangon Highway No 2. Similarly, a combined team under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Special Force of Kayin State seized 21,570 pairs of PE slippers carried more than ID at Myawady trade zone. Therefore, value of seizures amounted to 55.565 million Kyats, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
