Iceland’s Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir called for caution on Sunday as a referendum on resuming European Union accession talks remained too close to call, with early results putting Yes at 51.2% and No at 48.8%. Frostadóttir told Icelandic broadcaster RÚV that the high turnout showed that Icelanders were “genuinely interested in this issue”. She added that whatever the outcome, Iceland would need to “proceed with great care”.
