Humanitarian Assistance: 7th Coordination Meeting Of The Task Force

The 7th Coordination Meeting of the Task Force to facilitate provision of Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar through the AHA Centre was held at the Ministry of International Cooperation on 26 April.

It was attended by the Chair of the Task Force, Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing, Vice Chair (1) of the Task Force, Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Vice Chair (2) of the Task Force, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement H.E. Dr. Thet Thet Khine, members and secretaries of the Task Force.

The Meeting reviewed on operational experiences for receiving and delivery of Humanitarian Assistance across the nation. The Meeting further noted the outcomes of discussion with Cambodia Delegation during their working visit to Myanmar.

The Meeting then discussed upon the initiatives for Phase-2 provision of Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar proposed by Cambodia, preparation for the Joint Needs Assessment which is the initial stage for Phase-2 and policy-related matters for Humanitarian Assistance.

The Meeting reaffirmed continued support to facilitate swift and effective implementation of the whole process in close coordination with Cambodia, ASEAN Secretariat and AHA Centre.
