









Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Hotels and Tourism, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, visited various foreign-invested and partner hotels in Yangon Region to assess their readiness for the upcoming tourist season. Accompanied by Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe and officials, the Union Minister inspected hotel operations, room conditions, service standards, staff performance, and preparations to meet guest needs.
He emphasized the importance of providing high-quality hospitality services in Yangon, one of Myanmar’s key tourist destinations. He urged hotel staff to maintain cultural heritage, promote Myanmar traditional food and crafts, and follow government regulations.
Hotels were also encouraged to blend traditional design with modern standards. In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited temporarily closed foreign-invested hotels, encouraging them to reopen in time for peak travel season and operate in line with international standards. He stressed collaboration to develop the hotel and tourism sector in Yangon.
Hotel managers shared updates on reopening plans and current challenges. The Union Minister responded with guidance and support and inspected facilities prepared to host upcoming ASEAN-level international events.
