Honouring Ceremony: Artistes honoured for ‘Dignity Greater than Life’ drama

A ceremony to honour artistes from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and those who participated in performing thegreat drama show “Dignity greater than Life” in Mandalay.

Union Minister U Ko Ko, Mandalay Region Chief Minister Wunna Kyaw Htin U Maung Ko and many other officials were among those who attended this honouring ceremony at the Mandalay City Hall. In his address, the Union Minister expressed words of thanks and stressed that unity and understanding can successfully carry out the work. He also called for efforts to always study and try to be full of art and literature skills.

This honouring ceremony included a dinner and presenting cash award of over 30 million Kyats.

The drama depicts the advent of King Bayintnaung, the birth of his daughter Yaza Datu Kalaya, stake driving by two ministers to mark the establishment of the country, the conference of Minyanandameik, story of Natshinnaung, his meeting with Yaza Datu Kalaya, martial arts training, his proposal to Yaza Datu Kalaya, declaration of the marriage, the wedding ceremony, preparations to attack Ayudaya troops, manufacturing of artilleries by Nga Zinga, a meeting between Natshinnaung and Nga Zinga, a meeting between Minyahandameik and his commanders, the march to Thanlyin, Inwa troops attacking the Portugal troops and their allies Taungoo troops, an order to dig a tunnel to seize Thanlyin, the fall of Thanlyin walls, the capture of Nga Zinga and Natshinnaung and the legal verdict to give death sentence to Natshinnaung and Nga Zinga.
