Honourary Dinner: Ministry of Foreign Affairs organizes event

A dinner hosted by Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Wunna Maung Lwin and wife as well as Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing to the retired Ambassadors who were conferred honorary titles and medals, honorary title and medal recipient Ambassadors who are discharging duties in foreign countries and high ranking officials in the Ministry was held at the Jasmine Nay Pyi Taw Hotel on Thursday evening.

At the event, Union Minister U Wunna Maung Lwin said that the honourary titles and medals were presented in recognition of the state on serving duties.

It is proud of conferring titles and medals to those who excellently perform the state’s economy, social, public administration and the interests of the State and the people and it also a memorable for the Ambassadors in their life as they were conferred titles and medals on the special occasion of the Diamond Jubilee Independence.

The dinner is also aimed to have more friendship among each other, to exchange experiences, to cooperate in transparent manner between the ministry and embassies abroad. The Union Ministers, ambassadors and high ranking officials then discussed implementation of foreign policy and promoting the existing relations with foreign countries.

In the afternoon, a work coordination meeting between the Union Ministers, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, permanent secretary, Director Generals and ambassadors returning to Myanmar on duty from abroad to receive honourary titles and medals was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
