Honourary Ceremony in Shan State: Contestants who won prizes at the 23rd MTCPAC honoured

The honouring ceremony of contestants representing Shan State who won prizes at the 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition was held at the convocation Hall of Taunggyi University on Friday.

At the event, Shan State Chief Minister Dr Kyaw Tun said that the 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition was held with the aim to uplift national prestige and integrity, to preserve the cultural heritage and national characteristics and to have strengthening national unity.

A total of 101 contestants including 39 males and 62 females representing Shan State participated in the respective competitions and 19 prizes including 1 gold, 8 silvers, 5 bronzes and 5 consolation prizes were presented.

In the basic education level Dobat competition, the Htet Eain Gu Monastic Education School won the gold medal in the first competition and Shan State won silver and bronze medals in the Myanmar orchestra or Saing Waing group competition and other Myanmar Musical Instrument Playing Competitions.

It was followed by the prize presentation ceremony and the Chief Minister, the State Economic Affairs Minister, the State Minister for Natural Resources, the State Social Affairs Minister and the State Ethnic Affairs Minister presented prizes to winners of respective competitions.

The State Social Affairs Minister also presented honourary cash wards to officials who performed as supervisors at the central level competition. Later, the Secretary for the success of the committee for Shan State 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition recounted the experiences and the winners performed entertainments.
