Honoring victorious Judo team: Kachin State CM welcomed victorious Judo team

On the evening of June 23, the Kachin State Judo team, which won five gold, two silver, and five bronze medals, along with the Women's Championship Trophy, the Overall Championship Trophy, and the Best Female Athlete Award at the 2025 Region and State Judo Sports Competition, returned to Myitkyina.

They were grandly and joyfully welcomed at Myitkyina Airport by Shan State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and his wife, the Chief Justice of the State High Court, State ministers and their wives, the State Advocate General, state/district/township level departmental officials, officials from various sports sub-committees, students, drum and bugle corps, pom-pom groups, ethnic traditional dancers, and aerobics groups. Next, the state-honored team, along with their trophies and medals, was paraded through Myitkyina in vehicles from Myitkyina Airport.

Along the roads, local residents from various wards, departmental officials, trainees from the Nursing and Midwifery Training School, and students enthusiastically cheered and welcomed them on both sides of the street. At the front of the Public Sports Stadium, the Chief Minister and his wife, along with other officials, further welcomed and honored them with garlands and commemorative gifts.

Similarly, on the morning of June 24, the Chief Minister attended and delivered opening remarks at the opening ceremony of the volleyball and badminton competitions for staff of the General Administration Department, Kachin State, held within the State Government Office compound.

From there, the Chief Minister and officials attended the final and award ceremony of the Chief Minister's Cup, Ward/Village Tracts U-23 (Men's) Sepak Takraw Competition, held at the Sepak Takraw Stadium within the Nyein Chan Thayar Sports Complex as part of the 2025 Olympic Day celebrations.

They watched and encouraged the participants and presented awards to the winners. Subsequently, the Chief Minister attended a coordination meeting at the Malika Hall within the State Government Office, where he delivered a speech regarding the organization of a collective Waso Robe Offering Ceremony by state-level departmental officials and the Kachin State Government.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister and officials reportedly inspected the storage of 1,000 bags of "700-Bo" rice, a local variety, in a warehouse within the State Government Office compound. This stock is being maintained to provide aid and prevent food shortages in the event of natural disasters.
