Hong Kong's outgoing leader Carrie Lam held her final weekly news conference. She deferred decisions on important topics like strict virus travel restrictions and civil service pay rises, to the incoming administration led by a former police officer John Lee which will start on 1 July. Lam is Hong Kong's fourth local leader since Britain returned the territory to China in 1997. New leader John Lee won an election as the only candidate. The vast majority of Hong Kong citizens were not allowed to vote in that election.
