High air pollution in Paraguay due to forest fires

A dense haze of smoke covered the Paraguayan capital of Asunción on Thursday; meteorology experts say it is caused by forest fires in the north of Argentina. According to the organization Air Paraguay, which has sensors in some regions of the capital; air quality has become critical since Monday.

A meteorologist from Paraguay's national meteorology department explained that "the largest numbers of these heat sources detected by satellites are concentrated in the extreme northeast of Argentina and the south of Paraguay. Health Ministry recommended not to expose to outside air and to stay indoors, with doors and windows closed.
