



To facilitate the teaching method of the new curriculum, a herbal medicine garden is being implemented for students from No. (16) Basic Education High School (Mandalay).
The garden is being set up to provide practical training for students during 2022-2023 academic year. Doing practical exercises besides school lessons provide much supports for the students in learning their studies.
Headmaster, No.16 Basic Education High School (Mandalay), Dr. Than Htike Soe said "Being changed to the new syllabuses in the basic education lessons, a herbal medicine garden is needed to set up in our school. New generations’ students need to learn about herbal plants’ species systematically and it is so important to know the ways to use these plants. Our country possesses the most valuable tree species and we should conserve them. It will be very honorable for our school to posses this garden and we are implementing this place to provide much knowledge and benefits for the students."
The Herbal Medicine Garden is being established with the assistance of the University of Traditional Medicine and the Botanical experts from the Universities.
Headmaster, No.16 Basic Education High School (Mandalay), Dr. Than Htike Soe said "With the help of University of Traditional Medicine and the experts from Botany Departments, different species of medicinal plants are sorted out systematically. Teachers, staffs and students’ parents help to do these procedures also. If need to study about medicinal plants, this garden can provide references for school lessons from elementary to high school levels."
Over 75 species of medicinal plants can be studied in this herbal medicine garden.
