Heavy snowfall halts traffic on main road in Scottish Highlands

Heavy snowfall caused by Storm Gerrit halted traffic on the main road of the A9 in the Scottish Highlands near the village of Dalwhinnie.

Police in Scotland have warned of further disruption as yellow weather warnings remain in place through the night. Storm Gerrit has caused serious disruption for post-Christmas travellers across the UK as flights, trains and ferries have been cancelled on what is one of the UK's busiest travel days.
