Heavy rain hits southwest China’s Yunnan

Heavy rainfall struck the Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of southwest China’s Yunnan Province, prompting emergency response efforts as floodwater levels rose in low-lying areas.Some streets and residential neighborhoods have been inundated, leaving residents trapped in vehicles or inside buildings.

In response, local firefighters rushed to the affected areas to clear the clogged drains and carry out evacuations through the floodwaters. Over 40 trapped residents have been evacuated and relocated, and assistance was provided to over 20 trapped vehicles, according to local authorities.
