Health workers demand recognition, better equipment

in central Brussels, thousands of health care workers rallied on Sunday, demanding better pay and calling on the Belgian government to allocate more resources to the health sector on the frontline of the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the local media, some 4,000 people took part in the protest which was initially banned by the authorities. Belgium has recorded a rapid rise in the number of COVID infections in the past few weeks. The spike in infections comes as the country has reopened schools and many families returned from trips to countries with higher COVID-19 infections.
