



Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win and officials observed the Myancopharm COVID-19 vaccination at Zabuthiri Hospital (50-bed) in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.
He cordially met the people who came to receive the vaccine and inspected the vaccination process. The Ministry of Health received one million doses of Myancopharm vaccine in April, which have been produced with the Ready to Fill (RTF) system at the Myanmar Pharmaceutical Industry under the Ministry of Industry.
The vaccine is packaged by the Ministry of Industry in collaboration with the Sinopharm China National Biotec Group. It can be given safely to those from 5 years of age and above including the pregnant and lactating mothers.
It can also be safely used as a booster dose for people aged 18 and older. It can also be administered as a booster dose to those 18 years and above. The Union Minister later visited the Emergency Medical Services Training Centre in the hospital compound, and inspected the preparation of training rooms and teaching aids, and extended opening of human resource training on public health and treatment.
The Union Minister later met with the Medical Superintendent and officials at Nay Pyi Taw People’s Hospital (1000-bed) and stressed the needs to carry out for beautifying tasks and security measures. The officials reported on the preparation measures to upgrade the hospital as the teaching hospital.
The Union Minister later inspected the hospital’s One Stop Diabetes Center, Radiation Unit, Renal and Kidney Unit and Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
