Handover ceremony for 2026 World Cup

Qatari officials and a delegation from the USA, Mexico and Canada held a handover ceremony on Sunday as the 2022 World Cup came to a close in Doha.

With Sunday's World Cup final, the focus now begins to turn to North America and the 2026 tournament hosts. U.S. Presidential Delegate Linda Greenfield said that they are already hard at work preparing for 2026 and they are looking forward to welcoming fans from around the world.

2026 will be the first time three countries have jointly hosted the World Cup and will see the tournament return to North America after a 32 year wait.
