Sailing regatta kicks off in Can Tho city

The Can Tho City, Viet Nam Open Sailing Regatta 2025 officially opened on Monday morning, as part of a series of activities celebrating the Can Tho River Culture Festival. This year’s race brings together 8 teams with 16 athletes from provinces and cities across the region.

Following the opening ceremony, crews immediately began competing on the Hậu River, along the section running through Cần Thơ, over a 2.5 kilometre course. The number of laps is adjusted flexibly based on actual weather conditions and wind direction, ensuring both safety and professional standards. Waterway traffic management has been carefully planned to secure the competition area, while minimizing disruption to daily activities and river transport during the event.
