Greening Works in Kalaw: Kalaw to be established as “Pine City”

Efforts are being made to establish Kalaw Township as the “Pine City” in southern Shan State.

37,000 pine seedlings have been arranged at Inn-Pyin nursery garden in Kalaw Township, and these seedlings will be cultivated during this year. Moreover, 1,500 pine seedlings are also prepared to be cultivated in 2023.

In addition, the list of pine trees is recorded and number plates have been put on the pine trees.

Moreover, 100 acres of commercial pine cultivation are thriving at Taung Lay Lone reserved forest.

The pine species research plantations are also implemented at Taung Lay Lone Forest Reserve Center.

It is learnt that 120,000 various kinds of seedlings are cultivated in the nursery, and these seedlings will be planted for greening and beautifying the environ of Kalaw Township.
