






Passing Out Parade for the 12th Intake of the Female Officer Cadet Course of the Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School (Hmawbi) was held in Yangon on Friday.
Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the event. At the ceremony, the Senior General received the salute of the graduating cadet company and inspected them.
After the parade marched past the Senior General, the Senior General presented outstanding awards to winners of the Best Cadet, marksmanship, parade performance, and physical fitness. In his graduation speech, the Senior General said the female officer training program was created to enable women to serve alongside men in national defence.
He added that Myanmar women have historically contributed to national causes and today continue to serve in various military branches. Over 900 female officers are now serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force and supporting units, including in demanding roles.
He stressed that graduates must maintain discipline, physical fitness, leadership qualities, and uphold the values of the Tatmadaw. He said unity between the people and the Tatmadaw is essential for national stability and development, highlighting that the Tatmadaw is committed to protecting the Constitution and continuing the path of multi-party democracy.
He reiterated that peace efforts and dialogue remain important, and armed groups are urged to pursue political solutions. Preparations for holding a fair and successful future election are underway, including updated voter lists and the planned use of electronic voting machines. After the parade, the Senior General met the award-winning cadets and their families, congratulated them, and encouraged all graduates to continue striving, maintain good discipline and values, and serve the country with dedication.
