Gold Foil Offering: Historic Thiri Mingalar Kabar Aye Pagoda

The gold foils offering to Thiri Mingalar Kabar Aye Pagoda has started from 16 February this year and has been completed now and the work process took 3 and half months according to member of the Pagoda Board of Trustees.

Member of the Pagoda Board of Trustees added that gold plate offering to the pagoda is usually undertaken every 4 and 5 years according to the tradition and the pagoda’s situation. The gold leaf offering was suspended in 2020 because of COVID-19 pandemic.

Hla Tun, Member, Kabar Aye Pagoda Board of Trustees said "We offered a total of 439 ticals gold plates around the banana bud. 316 ticals of gold plates were offered at the lotus petals and reliefs under the banana bud of the pagoda. We continue to offer gold to the pagoda depending on receiving donations. We also invite the donors for the pagoda."

The successful completion of gold foil offering ceremony will be held soon by inviting Sayadaws and monks in conjunction with merit sharing ceremony.
