Gokteik Viaduct : Inspection at Pyin Oo Lwin–Gokteik railway section

Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo inspected the Pyin Oo Lwin–Gokteik railway section and the historic Gokteik Viaduct on Thursday.

Accompanied by Myanma Railways officials, the Union Minister traveled by RBE train to inspect the condition of the railway line, bridges, and stations, and gave instructions to ensure safety, structural strength, and cleanliness.

At the Gokteik Viaduct, officials reported on maintenance work, including strengthening of bridge foundations, track repairs, clearing bushes,  and repainting. The Union Minister emphasized regular inspections, timely repairs, and replacing wooden sleepers with poly-fiber plastic sleepers where necessary.

He also inspected a scenic viewpoint for passengers and instructed for improvement of the facilities so that travelers can safely enjoy views of the bridge and surrounding natural scenery.
