Thousands of hectares of cultivated and prepared agricultural land were submerged after the Gediz River overflowed in Turkiye. The flooding occurred following heavy rainfall, as intense water flow from streams and creeks feeding the Gediz River caused it to burst its banks.

Floodwaters spread rapidly across the plain, covering vast agricultural areas. Vineyards, along with fields prepared for planting peppers, tomatoes and corn, were left under water. Producers were also unable to carry out pruning work, as they could not access their vineyards due to the flooding.
