Fresher Welcoming Ceremony: Kachin State CM attended the ceremony

The Fresher Welcoming Ceremony for the 2025–2026 academic year of Myitkyina University, Kachin State, was held on December 24 at the university’s Convocation Hall. The Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, attended the event, offered encouragement, and delivered the opening address.

Next, the Rector of Myitkyina University, Dr. Aung Win, delivered welcoming remarks to 277 newly admitted first-year students from various regions who will be attending different academic disciplines in the 2025–2026 academic year. The Chief Minister and State Government members who attended the ceremony then introduced themselves individually. To assist the incoming first-year students, the Rector, Pro-Rectors, Heads of Academic and Administrative Departments, and officials also introduced themselves one by one.

Afterward, subject professors, the Head of the Student Affairs Department, and the Assistant Librarian explained the available study programs, the knowledge and skills students can acquire, the benefits of their studies, matters related to student affairs, and essential information about the university library. The welcoming ceremony concluded with a final-year student delivering welcoming remarks, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.

In the afternoon, at the Mali Kha Hall of the State Government Office, the (1/2025) coordination meeting with members of the Kachin State Regional Tourism Committee was held. The Chairman of the Regional Tourism Committee, the Chief Minister of Kachin State, delivered an address.

Subsequently, the Vice Chairman and the Secretary of the Committee presented reports, using PowerPoint, on ongoing activities, the implementation status of decisions from the (2/2024) coordination meeting, and matters related to license applications. Committee members in attendance provided additional explanations and clarifications.

Afterward, the Chief Minister coordinated and discussed with committee members, in accordance with procedures, the approval of six new hotel and guesthouse business license applications, 28 applications related to the renewal of tourism business licenses, branch office applications, and new license applications and nine requests for license cancellation, it was reported.
