Fresher Welcome Ceremony: University of Forestry and Environmental Science

The University of Forestry and Environmental Science under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation organized a fresher welcome ceremony for 2023-2024 academic year on 26th January.

Union Minister U KhinMaung Yi attended the ceremony and delivered a speech, emphasizing the critical need to conserve forests for the posterity and the well-being of mankind and all living things. He urged all the incoming students to strive for excellence in their respective subjects and goals.

During the ceremony, outstanding students were recognized and awarded. With the aim of turning out forestry experts dedicated to the conservation of forests, a university-level forestry education was established in 1923. As of the 2022-2023 academic year, over 3,000 graduates have completed their education, with many of them obtaining master's and doctorate degrees from both local and international universities.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, a total of 338 students from the first year to the fifth year are currently attending the University of Forestry and Environmental Science.
