









Union Minister for Labour U Myint Naung attended the inaugural ceremony of the new Labor office in South Dagon Township and the Kaung Zay Social Security clinic on Tuesday, as a gesture of honoring International Worker’s Day. Also present at the ceremony were Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Ethnic Affairs Minister and relevant officials.
Then, the Union Minister, Chief Minister and Ethnic Affairs Minister inaugurated the office building by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. They then toured the clinic and office buildings.
Next, the Union Minister and party proceeded to the Skill Training Center in Dagon MyoThit (North) Township. During the visit, they encouraged the exam-taking trainees of Korean Language Proficiency Test (EPS-Topik) at Panglong Hall of the Center.
Afterwards, they attended the opening ceremony of the renovated out-patient department in Tamwe Township Labor Hospital, followed by ceremonial ribbon cut. They then inspected the medical treatment being provided in the hemodialysis room and offered cash assistance to the kidney dialysis patients. 4 blood purification machines have been installed in the hemodialysis room at the Labor Hospital in Yangon. Medical treatments are being provided to 8 insured workers per day free of charge with 7-day a week in Yangon and Mandalay.
The Social Security Board of the Ministry of Labor has already constructed three workers’ hospitals to provide comprehensive health services for eligible insured workers. In Tamwe Township Labor Hospital, renovations of the outpatient department and hemodialysis room were implemented with over 30 million kyats from the SSB’s funds in the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
