French PM leads international ceremony marking D-Day in Normandy

French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu on Saturday led an international ceremony in Normandy, marking the 82nd anniversary of the D-Day landings.

The event honored the remaining WWII veterans and was attended by high-ranking Allied officials. UK Defence Secretary John Healey and Chief of the Defence Staff Sir Rich Knighton laid wreaths to pay respects to the over twenty thousand fallen British and Allied troops listed on the British Normandy Memorial.
