French-made electric car batteries hit market for first time

Four years after its creation, Automotive Cells Company (ACC) has begun marketing its car batteries for electric cars produced near Lens, the first to be made in France, and despite start-up difficulties, it is aiming to become "a major player" in a market. "The battery is 40% of the price of the car" says ACC's General Secretary. He said the company’s first objective is to be able to bring competitive batteries to the market.
