France's Defence Minister meets his Indonesian counterpart

France's Defence Minister met his Indonesian counterpart during a visit to Jakarta aimed at deepening the defence partnership between the two countries.

The ministers discussed various forms of military cooperation as well as procurement schemes for France-made armament such as Rafale fighter jets and Scorpene submarines, a spokesperson for the Indonesian defence ministry said. The French Embassy in Jakarta said earlier this week that France had deployed a carrier strike group to Indonesia for the first time.
