France to make middle school certificate mandatory for higher education

France's education Minister Genetet announces that French school children will be required to obtain their middle school certificate to be given access to high school, starting from 2027.  Passing the middle school 'Brevet' will become compulsory in order to move on to high school "from the 2027 session", declares Genetet at a press conference.
