France, Japan hold summit talks in Tokyo

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and French President Emmanuel Macron held a meeting in Tokyo on Wednesday, discussing ways to help ease Middle East tensions. At the bilateral summit, both sides exchanged views on issues related to economic security, such as deepening cooperation on diversifying supply chains for rare earths and other critical minerals.

Regarding the Middle East situation, Macron believed that both countries can cooperate closely over the Iran crisis. Moreover, the two leaders signed bilateral agreements which aims to strengthen Franco-Japanese partnerships in civil nuclear energy and technological and space innovation.
