Fourth Pillar: Union Minister for Information Inspects MRTV (Yangon)

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn inspected Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) Yangon on Monday and held meetings with concerned officials.

 In the meeting with the officials of MRTV (Yangon), the Union Minister highlighted good history of the MRTV and its important role in the current transformation of political landscape while upholding the motto – to inform, educate and entertain.  In order to promote the nation's image, he stressed MRTV to strengthen its efficiency with the  collaboration of professional services, according to the 21st century digital technology.

The Union Minister also pointed out the Prime Minister’s instruction which is that the MRTV will serve the country and be the one the public can rely on. MRTV has to contribute as the responsible media, creating a peaceful society and ease the concerns of the people. The meeting continued with reports by Director General of the MRTV U Ye Naing on work progress.

After the meeting, the Union Minister inspected news rooms, programme shooting at studios so also rehearsals of Saing-waing traditional orchestra and the national symphony orchestra so also the radio tape and disc library and digitalization processes.

 In the afternoon, the Union Minister held meeting with the Myanmar Music Association (Central) and discussed the COVID-19 vaccination programme for musicians. Later that day, he also held meetings with officials from private media companies, joint ventured with the MRTV.
