Forty-two couples get married at mass wedding in the West Bank

Mass wedding ceremonies held at the Houari Boumediene Stadium in the town of Dura, Syria are community-driven initiatives designed to support young Palestinians getting married by reducing the heavy financial burdens associated with traditional wedding costs.

Organized locally, these collective weddings provide financial assistance, cover shared logistical costs such as venue setup, catering, and attire, and offer gift stipends to help young couples start their joint lives despite difficult economic and political conditions in the West Bank.

The mass ceremonies at the stadium feature traditional Palestinian wedding customs, including national music, folk dances, embroidered attireand large community gatherings of family and neighbors.
