Foodstuff for grass-roots: Basic foodstuff provided and sold in Magway & Sagaing

The basic foodstuff were provided to grass-root households at the Yay Nanchaung University in Magway Region.

According to the Township Administrator from the Yay Nanchaung Township Administrative Department said that the basic foodstuff such as rice, edible oil and salt were provided to 500 households in Yay Nanchaung Township preliminarily.

The foods were distributed to 14 wards and 29 villages in the township. 1 pyi of rice, 33 ticals of edible oil, 50 ticals of salt, 25 ticals of onions and 30 ticals of beans were distributed per household.

The locals said that the donation would support to the households to a certain extent at the difficulty time. There are 14 wards and 29 village-tracts in Yay Nanchaung Township and the basic foodstuff were provided proportionately. 

Likewise, under the supervision of Sagaing Region Government, the basic foodstuff and vegetables are sold to the households in the districts and townships in Sagaing Region with reasonable prices daily.

The foodstuff selling group with the affordable price from Monywa township sells the food for locals daily by mobile trucks and at the shops.

The group sells 4 items of food such as 1 pyi of rice, 10 ticals of edible oil, 25 ticals of onion and 25 ticals of potato at the rate of 3000 kyats for a household and 200 households per day.
