Flourishing of Sasana: Meeting on translation and publication of religious books

2nd coordination meeting on translation process of Tipitaka Pali-Myanmar Dictionaries to English was held in Yangon on 25th January. The translation work is being carried by the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University. At the meeting, the Rector Sayadaw of the University delivered an opening speech.

Then, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin submitted that all the work processes from translation to publication of religious scriptures have been carried out with the contribution of the donors, and it could be of great help for flourishing and propagation of Theravada Buddha Sasana to the world.

The meeting discussed the work progress of the translation process. The International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University has already made 1,000 books each publication for Volumes-I and II of dictionary treatises in 2017 and 2023 respectively. Measures are underway to publish the Volume-III covering the remaining 3,002 entry items. In addition, scrutiny works are being made for translation of 3,805 entry items out of 4,390.
