Flag Hoisting Ceremony in Taunggyi : Shan State CM read the Union Day message

The 79th Union Day Flag Hoisting Ceremony was held at 5:30 AM on February 12th at the Awayar Hot-Air Balloon Ground in Taunggyi of Shan State.

Led by the honour guard, the flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was raised. Subsequently, members of the State Government who attended, state-level departmental officials, and local ethnic nationals paid a salute to the flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and to the fallen leaders.

Afterwards, the ceremony to read the message commemorating the 79th Union Day of 2026 continued at the State Hall at 7:00 AM. At the ceremony, Shan State Chief Minister Zayya Kyaw Htin Sithu U Aung Aung, members of the State Government, state-level departmental officials, and local ethnic nationals paid salute to the national flag and paid tribute to the fallen martyr leaders and all members of the forces.

Then, the State Chief Minister read out the 79th Union Day message sent by the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.

Subsequently, the State Chief Minister, the Commander, State Ministers, the State Advocate General, the Secretary of the State Government, and other officials toured and viewed the traditional ethnic food stalls, departmental exhibitions, MSME  booths, companies’ displays, and traditional ethnic costume galleries.
