Fish Stocking Ceremony: MoHT held 2nd fish stocking ceremony

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism held its second fish stocking ceremony at the Check Dam near the Ministry's office building in the afternoon on 25th July. The event aimed to prevent the depletion of fish species, ensure the sustainable propagation of fish resources, and achieve self-sufficiency in fish consumption. Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Kyaw Soe Win, the Permanent Secretary, the Director-General, senior officials, and staff from the Ministry attended the ceremony.

During the fish stocking ceremony, the Union Minister first released fish fingerlings into the Ministry's dam. The Permanent Secretary, the Director-General, the Deputy Permanent Secretary, and other staff members then continued to stock fish into the dam.

At today's ceremony, a total of 10,000 Silver Barb and Rohu fish fingerlings were released. The Ministry's first fish stocking ceremony was held on July 12, 2025, where 1,000 fish fingerlings were released.
